Position Title:         Alumni Development Manager

Reports To:            Director of Development

Work Hours:           9:00am-5:00pm/M-F (40 hours/week, including occasional evening/weekends for special events)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Alumni Relations

  • Plan, design, lead and execute comprehensive Alumni Relations program.

  • Responsible for alumni event planning, coordination, and implementation including but not limited to: tailgates, class reunions, golf scramble, day of giving.

  • Create annual plan to identify, cultivate, and steward alumni which leads to solicitation resulting in alumni giving.

  • Develop and implement an alumni engagement communication strategy including not limited to: direct mail, e-newsletters, BK alumni web sites, social media, etc.

  • Further develop the content on alumni webpage and other communication avenues.

  • Develop a volunteer recruitment strategy to further alumni engagement.


  • Will be responsible for increasing alumni giving through .  

  • Supports and attends major activities and events in the BK community.  This may necessitate evenings and weekends, as needed.

  • Conducts presentations and personal visits to donors, parents/alumni, and community groups to raise awareness of Bishop Kelly’s capital and operating needs.

  • Solicit gifts from new and existing donors for the annual fund.

  • Ability to manage a portfolio of major donors for BK2020 Vision campaign and major donor program.

  • Assist with identifying and scheduling prospects for values based, estate planning program.

  • Completes other duties as assigned.



The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree.

  2. Three years of Development or Sales experience; this includes customer or donor relationship management.

  3. Desire to work in a mission-centered, high quality, collegial and collaborative non-profit school environment is an important factor for the successful candidate.

  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required.

  5. The ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  6. Proven successful experience managing volunteers.

  7. Proven success with major event planning and coordination.

  8. Proven ability to solicit high net worth investors for Bishop Kelly and successfully manage and retain those relationships.

  9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

  10. Strong writing skills and the ability to generate content for alumni specific communications.

  11. Familiarity with the Bishop Kelly and Treasure Valley communities.

  12. Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint or other major presentation software.  Work experience with Blackbaud database (eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge).

  13. High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information.
